Bayer supports LGBTI Community

Diversity is a fixed part of the corporate culture at Bayer. We want to be just as colorful and diverse as the world in which we operate. Only in this way can we continue to produce innovations and remain successful in the future.

The challenges we face every day are just as diverse as we are. That is why we also want to support the LGBTI (Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Intersexual) community and create an environment for our employees in which everybody can give their best, regardless of their sexual orientation or gender identity.

About BLEND

BLEND is the name of a global community at Bayer that was set up by LGBTI employees and other supporters. The aim of the community is to raise awareness of LGBTI issues and to promote an inclusive and open corporate culture. Nobody at Bayer should have to conceal their personality or ideas.

The community therefore organizes a variety of events and is present at career fairs. Worldwide, BLEND has representatives in Brazil, the United States, China and Germany.

This year the community will once again participate in the Christopher Street Day (CSD) on Sunday, July 8, 2019 in Cologne. Live impressions of the event are shared via Bayer's Instagram Account:

Employees prepare for the Christopher Street Day 2018 Parade

Employees at the Berlin site were also informed about Bayers' activities on diversity.

Bayer at the 2017 Christopher Street Day (CSD) Parade in Cologne

At the weekend the Bayer BLEND-Community was part of the CSD parade in cologne.

The CSD Parade was the highlight of ColognePride. Some 950,000 people came to Cologne to watch the colorful parade of lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender people through the city center. Under the motto “Bayer: Respecting Your Right To Be You” Bayer tookpart in the parade for the first time. In addition to the 40 people on the float around 100 members of the BLEND community and their friends marched alongside the Bayer float.
